Countries and Jurisdictions

A multi-country search and onboarding platform, with practising rights checked separately for each jurisdiction.

Country selection is a starting point

LegalBench supports country-based searches and lawyer applications. Pakistan is the initial focus; the United Kingdom, United States, Australia and other countries can be selected. This describes the platform’s search capability, not a promise that approved lawyers, regulated payment services or every type of legal service are currently available in every country.

Choose the law that applies

Your residence, the lawyer’s office and the governing law of a legal matter may be different. A cross-border matter can require professionals in more than one jurisdiction. Ask each lawyer to explain the scope of their admission and whether another locally authorised professional is needed. A video call or an online profile does not create practising rights abroad.

Country guides

  • Pakistan: start with the relevant bar admission and forum.
  • United Kingdom: identify whether the matter concerns England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.
  • United States: identify the relevant state, territory and any specialist or federal admission.
  • Australia: identify the relevant state or territory and practising certificate.

Check the practical arrangements

  • Who provides the legal service and the exact jurisdiction covered.
  • Permitted professional title and current regulator record.
  • Conflicts, competence and whether another lawyer is already involved.
  • Fees, currency, taxes, exchange costs and external expenses.
  • Time zones, language, document handling and any attendance requirements.
  • Complaint and regulator routes for that professional.

If the right professional is not listed

You can ask about availability without sharing confidential documents. Lawyers can apply for an admission review. LegalBench will not assign a worldwide verification badge merely because a professional is admitted in one country.
