LEGALBENCH

Terms of Use

The framework for using LegalBench accounts, professional profiles, communications and platform features.

About these terms

These terms explain the use of LegalBench as a legal-services marketplace product. TechAbout Private Limited in Pakistan develops the product, alongside TechAbout LLC in the United States. SG & AK Advocates is the Pakistan law firm associated with the platform. The lawyer or law firm identified in your written engagement provides the professional service. Contact [email protected] if you need clarification before using a service.

Accounts and accurate information

You must provide accurate information, use an email address you control and protect your sign-in credentials. Do not impersonate another person, create an administrative account through public registration, misstate professional qualifications or use another person’s admission. You are responsible for having authority to give instructions for an organisation or another person. Do not use the platform where you cannot lawfully agree to the relevant terms or obtain the necessary authorisation.

Professional status and engagement

Account creation and identity review are not practising credentials. A professional must supply accurate admission details and comply with the rules applicable to the work. A directory review is specific to the recorded jurisdiction and date. A message, profile view, generated draft or consultation request does not by itself establish a lawyer–client relationship. The lawyer or firm must confirm the scope, conflicts, availability, fees and engagement terms.

Acceptable use and confidentiality

Do not use the platform to mislead, harass, discriminate unlawfully, introduce malicious files, obtain unauthorised access or publish information you have no right to share. Keep initial enquiries non-confidential. Use an agreed document-handling process for sensitive records, and do not upload another person’s identity documents or client files without proper authority. Read the professional conduct guidelines and Privacy Notice.

Fees, payments and cancellation

Read the price, currency, scope and payment route before proceeding. Platform features and professional fees should be identified separately. No purchase guarantees a professional approval, referral, appointment or legal outcome. The Fees and Payments and Cancellation and Refunds pages explain the general process; specific engagement terms and applicable mandatory rights also matter.

Availability and review of access

We may review inaccurate profiles, investigate reported misuse and restrict access where necessary to protect users or comply with applicable obligations. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that every jurisdiction, professional service or payment route is available. Keep independent copies of important instructions, deadlines and engagement records.

Legal rights and changes

Nothing here is intended to remove rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, override a lawyer’s professional duties or replace a regulator’s jurisdiction. Applicable law and the separate professional engagement remain relevant, especially across borders. If the platform’s terms or services change materially, the relevant published information should be updated. This version was published on 31 October 2026.
