Lawyer Proposal Guidelines

Send clear, private and jurisdiction-appropriate proposals for legal work on LegalBench.

Start with professional eligibility

Respond only where your current admission, territorial rights, competence and professional duties permit the proposed work. A country-level review does not establish eligibility for every court or subnational jurisdiction.

Make the proposal useful

  • Summarise the client’s need and your proposed approach.
  • Identify the work included and any exclusions.
  • State the proposed fee in the request’s currency.
  • Explain turnaround assumptions and what you need from the client.
  • Identify any separate conflict checks and engagement terms before work begins.

Protect client information

Do not include confidential examples from another client, private documents or unsupported claims about results. Your proposal is visible to its client and you, rather than competing applicants.

Professional rules still apply

Use of LegalBench must comply with the rules applicable to your practice, including restrictions on solicitation, advertising and fee arrangements. Do not promise success or claim a platform review is a regulator endorsement.
